Lock Picking With Paperclip

Got a Paperclip? Pick a Lock!

If you have two paperclips and a couple of minutes then you can pick a padlock. It’s easier than you might think and once you get the hang of it then you should be able to open the lock in just a few seconds.

First, you will need to fashion the paperclips into a tension wrench and a pick. The first paperclip is the "pick" where you simply lift up one edge of the paperclip at a right angle. This will make the paperclip look like a lowercase "r". And then, make a tension wrench by opening up the other paperclip and then twisting onto one end of the paperclip firmly. You'd want to make sure there are minimal gaps left between the two edges where you've wrapped them together.

Once you have the “pick” and “tension wrench” fashioned you are ready to start picking the lock. First, place the paperclip tension wrench into the bottom side of the keyhole and push it all the way in. Now, apply tension to the other end of that paperclip that is outside the lock in the clockwise direction. At this point you'd need to maintain tension on the “tension wrench” while you insert the “pick”. Once ok, insert the straight paperclip into the top side of the keyhole. Then find the pins, push down, rake and the padlock will be opened.

Never waste time again searching for a missing padlock key, or even calling a locksmith, now you can easily open a padlock yourself with just a couple of minutes and two paperclips! Just give it a try and you will be surprised at how easy it can be done.
